The following information is based on a mixture of official information including Dinopedia entries, game manuals, developer commentary, and in-game behavior.
The Stegosaurus was a peaceful herbivore that probably roamed in small herds. It had a very low intelligence (due to its small brain-to-body ratio). It is easy to recognize due to the giant plates protruding from its back, in two staggered rows and dangerous spikes on the end of his tail. These plates on its back may have served for thermoregulation. Stegosaurs emite deep roaring calls. This bus-sized herbivore, fueled by its extra intake of nutrients from its unique chewing ability, weighs up to six tons on an average, an average sense of sight, a poor sense of smell, and an average sense of hearing. This animal on average, is the fourth largest known inhabitant of FMM UV-32. Surpassing Brontotherium, this animal rivals the Mammoth, Brachiosaurus, and Amargasaurus in size. The largest specimen on record was over 18 tons in weight and over 15 meters in length. Despite it's large girth and dangerous weapon it is relatively harmless.it is a hebervore
The Stegosaurus appeared in Carnivores and Carnivores 2 as a pointable herbivore. Despite its tail spikes, it is harmless and will flee when player approach it. It is a very easy dinosaur to hunt due to the fact that the player can easily take advantage of it and shoot its target zone (the head) when it stops to graze, as well as the fact that it is a cumbersome runner, making it an easy target even once the player is detected by it.
Stegosaurus appears inCarnivores: Dinosaur Hunter HD once again as a trophy dinosaur. This time, it is the first dinosaur available to hunt, with a Stegosaurus license costing only 5 gems (it is also unlocked from the start of the game). Although listed as "not dangerous", the Stegosaurus (like all trophy dinosaurs) is capable of killing the hunter if he gets too close. The Stegosaurus is one of the easiest dinosaurs to take down, thanks to its easily visible body and low senses. Oddly enough, the Stegosaurus' call is just a generic bear roar.
Stegosaurus returns in Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter Reborn. The Stegosaurus is once again dangerous, and kills the hunter by impaling him with the dinosaur's spiked tail. The Stegosaurus, yet again, uses a generic bear call. MutatedStegosaurus can be found roaming the islands.
