The wild boar is a modern day animal found throughout Earth. It is a pointable animal in Carnivores Ice Age and Carnivores: Ice Age.

Biology[]

The wild boar of FMM UV-32 is a large 1 ton pig of the Arctic Sector that resembles warthogs of Earth. Its huge tusks are used to shovel snow to feed on buried plants, roots, tubers, and possibly small animals while also using them for defense against predators when threatened. Its thick layer of fur and fat allows it to keep warm in its environment.

Carnivores Ice Age[]

In Carnivores Ice Age, the wild boar is the second animal available to hunt. It will attack the hunter if wounded or cornered, then it impales the hunter and shakes him around on its huge tusks. Similar to the case between Gallimimus and Velociraptor, the pig could be mistaken for the wild boar, but not as likely as the animals mentioned before. It is easier to tell them apart at a distance due to the large difference in overall size and skin color. It is also the only modern animal available to hunt, with the unconfirmed Yeti as a possibility.

Trivia[]

  • Despite its name, the animal seen in-game bears more resemblance to a warthog, Pachochoerus africanus. In fact, in some files the Wild Boar is referred to as a Warthog.
  • Despite it not being the only animal in the Carnivores franchise that is labeled as being "Dangerous if wounded.", it is the only animal that truly is so (other animals may still attack if disturbed despite being labeled as dangerous if wounded).
  • The pig and wild boar use recolored versions of the same texture.
  • The wild boar, pig, housefly, and feral rock pigeon are the only animals in the Carnivores series that are not extinct.
